Alumni Trips » 2008 » Great Adventures More Trips for 2008: Great Journeys | Great Cities | Great Sport Borneo Adventure Borneo, the world’s third largest island, is a true naturist’s haven with over 15,000 species of flowering plants, 221 terrestrial mammals and 420 species of resident birds. Our Borneo Adventure is perfect for the soft adventure traveller as we make our way through the Malaysian province of Sabah. First we travel to Kota Kinabalu where you will be introduced to the indigenous flora and fauna of the island before making our way to Gaya Island where you can snorkel or relax in a tropical setting. Next, our tour makes its way through the Sukau rainforest where you will spend two nights at a lodge that we use as a base to travel the interior of the island by river to view wild elephants, proboscis monkeys, hornbills and wild boars. Before concluding our trip in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur, we stop in at the Sepilok Sanctuary where you will get up close to the islands most famous habitant, the orang-utan.
